Every moment of my day is driven by the passion for what I do.
I am constantly inspired by the future and have a divergent and international background ranging between: education, startups, technology, social innovation and acting.
I am a driven and passionate young italian social entrepreneur and actress.
My life is dedicated to solving the gaps in today’s education by leveraging exponential tech. I believe in the power of future generations to change the world and my mission is to help them unleash their potential to do so by helping shape what the future of education looks like. I deliberately only work on projects with high potential to positively impact the world.
I am the Founder and CEO of Kukua, who’s mission is to teach reading, writing and basic numeracy to 250M illiterate children in Sub-Saharan Africa and in war conflict zones such as Syrian refugees, by harnessing the rise of smartphones and the power of mobile-gaming. My team is also competing for the 15M Global Learning XPRIZE.
When I was a teenager I founded Staanoi a non-profit organizations who prepares students to the 21st century professional world. Our Gamechanger’s Program teaches a set of Modules (Changemaking, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Creativity etc) to help students understand their strenghts and passions, as we believe the combination of these two will lead to a successful career. We also recently partnered with Ashoka to help launch the Changemaker Schools program in Italy.
In the summer of 2014 I attended the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University , where I spent 10 weeks with the most amazing 79 human beings, living at NASA Ames campus in Mountain View (Silicon Valley), working with exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and biotech to solve the big humanitarian challenges such as education, poverty, healthcare and energy.
Previously I worked in the San Francisco Bay Area at Mind the Bridge, an accelerator and startup school; in Milan at Studio Lentati as a fundraiser; and as the Curator of the European Maker Faire in Rome and Education Day.
Instead of going to University I followed my passion and trained as an actress in one of the top 5 Drama Schools in UK, The Oxford School of Drama (my dream was – and secretly still is – “to become a famous actress and change the world!”). Drama School shaped my character, built my stamina, taught me to fail, to fail again and to fail better and turned me into a courages women.
My spirit is of optimism and energy and regularly directs my attention to what is good, right, and challenging. I love talking to anyone and my outward manner inspires people to swiftly move into action alongside me.
I have backpacked through all 5 continents, fluently speak English, Italian and Spanish (and learning French & Swahili) and feel like a global citizen.
Most of all I am a fighter and I strive every single day to fulfill my mission wearing my biggest smile.
Two things I care for the most in the world are: my mission & my family.
This blog is called Gettingbusy because my nick name is Bisi (it comes from my last name Bisignani) and I’m also usually very Busy doing what I do!
